General Info

Paolo's Authentic Filipino Restaurant at 7070 11 St SE #11, Calgary, AB T2H 2W8, Canada, feels like the kind of family restaurant people return to when they want comforting food and a relaxed atmosphere that actually feels welcoming. The menu focuses on hearty Filipino favorites, and every dish brings a homemade character that stands out from the first bite. From dinner gatherings with friends to casual late-night food cravings, the experience feels warm, filling, and easy to enjoy.

One dish that immediately grabs attention is the Pork Sisig. It arrives sizzling, packed with bold flavor, and delivers the perfect mix of savory, crispy, and slightly smoky textures. It is the kind of plate that naturally becomes the center of the table. The Beef Sinigang offers a completely different experience but is equally memorable. The broth has that rich, comforting sourness Filipino cuisine is known for, while the beef stays tender and satisfying. It works especially well during colder evenings in Calgary when guests are looking for something deeply comforting.

The Arroz Valenciana adds another layer to the menu with its rich rice texture and flavorful combination of ingredients. It feels festive yet comforting at the same time. Meanwhile, the Bistek Beef brings a balanced savory flavor that pairs perfectly with rice, making it one of those dishes that quietly becomes a favorite after a few bites. The Specialty Soup also deserves attention because it adds warmth and depth to the dining experience without feeling too heavy.

Beyond the food, Paolo's Authentic Filipino Restaurant creates a welcoming environment that works for many types of diners. Families appreciate that it is good for kids, while the casual setup also makes dinner feel relaxed and unhurried. The presence of a restroom inside the restaurant adds convenience, especially for larger family visits or longer meals. Another detail that leaves a positive impression is the restaurant’s transgender safespace atmosphere, which helps create a more comfortable and inclusive dining experience for everyone.

Reviews from returning guests often focus on the generous portions, flavorful cooking, and the comforting atmosphere that makes people want to come back. The location in Calgary is convenient for both locals and visitors searching for authentic Filipino food without needing an overly formal dining setup. Everything about the experience feels approachable, from the menu choices to the relaxed family-style energy throughout the restaurant.

What customers say?

“ I had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had dining in a Filipino restaurant away from the Philippines. The dishes are truly authentic, tasted delicious, and the chef catered to our needs. We ordered pork sisig, pork sinigang, and garlic rice. It was phenomenal, and when I started to smell it being cooked, it brought a genuine smile to my face. This place, even though it is a restaurant, felt like home. My only reservations are with the pork in the sinigang, which was quite tough, and the service, with the servers/waiters not really checking on you throughout your visit and one of us had to come up to the counter for help. However, it was quickly fixed with the chef herself helping us out, packing our food for us, and having a wonderful quick conversation with her. The staff was very friendly, just a couple reminders to check on their customers would do well for them. Overall, this place almost made me feel emotional by making me miss family back home, from how the food tasted, to the kind demeanour of the people who work there. The vibes and decor of the place were also cute with the funny quotes and pretty trinkets placed around. Highly, highly recommend going, as we will definitely start going back regularly. ”

All the dishes are amazing especially the crispy Pata I recommend calling ahead to place your order (especially if you're getting the crispy Pata) when you're visiting on the weekends as they can get quite busy with take out orders and walk ins Must come back next time for Halo Halo because we were too full for desserts! “ Paolo’s Filipino Restaurant is truly a GEM in the community! From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth, kindness, and genuine Filipino hospitality. The staff welcomes you like family, and the service is absolutely top-notch. But the star of it all is Tita Rose, the heart and soul of the restaurant. She greets everyone with the biggest smile and makes you feel like you’re coming home to a relative’s kitchen. Her presence alone brings so much comfort, joy, and authenticity to the whole dining experience. You can really feel the love she puts not only in the food, but in the way she treats every customer. The dishes are delicious, flavorful, and truly taste like home—every bite feels like a celebration of Filipino culture. If you want amazing food, warm service, and a true Filipino dining experience, Paolo’s is the place. Hands down one of the best Filipino restaurants out there! Highly recommended! ”

“ I ordered the King Crispy Pata dish and whoa it was delicious! Not fatty or greasy compared to the usual Crispy Pata you buy at other Filipino restaurants. I highly recommend trying it and I will definitely visit this place soon! ”

“ Who says food and recipes need to be static? If innovation/s would lead to something nice then there is no argument from my camp. I am referring to Paolo's chicken inasal which is essentially a swerve from the traditional taste but is no less delicious. The flesh is tender but is nearly approximating the dry. The sauces make for added dimensions to the dish. Paolo's kare-kare with its quintessential peanut-based sauce of old is superb. The thinner soup base makes for a departure from the unwieldy ladling of the usual thicker version. As a personal preference, I would love the green beans to be just a little beyond blanched just like how the bok choy was done. The fried rice is tops, what with the use of that ubiquitous and flavorful lily (allium sativum). Just for fun, making garlic sound exotic! The only noncomplimentary feedback is the noisy ventilation fan at the front of the restaurant. Ways should be found to mitigate the decibels that drown out soft conversations. Rose, the proprietress and obvious cook, had spent some years in Singapore as per our aftermeal conversation and such is evident in the listed dishes on the menu offering a number of veritable fusion items. We will come back for those. ”
